Wee Hur Construction Transforms Site Progress Tracking With a 75% Boost in Efficiency

With a 75% Boost in Efficiency, Wee Hur Construction Transforms Site Progress Tracking Using Autodesk Construction Cloud in Singapore’s Built Environment.

Wee Hur is embracing digital transformation using Autodesk Construction Cloud to enhance project management and create a seamless common data environment (CDE). Founded in 1980, Wee Hur is a major player in Singapore’s construction industry, handling large, complex projects. With an A1 financial grade from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority, the company can take on public sector projects of any size.

Wee Hur is also preparing for the Industry Digital Plan, a government initiative to accelerate digital transformation to boost productivity, sustainability, and innovation. By investing in advanced technology, Wee Hur is not just keeping up with the times but also leading the way in digital construction in Singapore, setting the pace for the future of construction.

Breaking Down Silos to Improve Construction Project

While Wee Hur managed project documents according to meticulous standards, the traditional inspection process involved manual scanning and saving forms across different trades. Without a CDE, relying on Excel was inefficient, and if a team member switched projects or left, the inspection history could be lost. When construction was at its peak, locating the correct files was challenging. Clash detection was managed using Navisworks; however, issue tracking and manual resolution were tedious. Progress reporting was also time-consuming, with multiple on-site resources needed to obtain the latest work status, and Management

Unlocking Project Potential with Autodesk Construction Cloud

Joseph Imatong (Jojo), Corporate BIM Manager/ Deputy Project Manager for Wee Hur, evaluated potential solutions against a long list of requirements. He believed Autodesk Construction Cloud was more user-friendly than other platforms and knew most contractors chose it, so alignment was also critical.

Currently implemented for two major commercial projects—Bartley Vue, a luxury residential condominium complex, and Mount Vernon Funeral Parlour Campus—Wee Hur has successfully used Autodesk Construction Cloud Assets for inspections. The company plans to expand its use across all projects in 2025.

Transitioning from traditional methods to a cloudbased solution can be challenging, especially for longterm employees who hesitate to use new digital tools. However, Jojo is dedicated to ensuring everyone is on board and ready to embrace the change, focusing on converting manual processes to digital to improve the user experience.

He explained, “User training was critical for us. We adjusted sessions to suit individual user pace, so our work schedule wasn’t affected and created short video tutorials with AI-generated voiceovers in different languages and dialects to suit our diverse workforce. Some workflow processes were adjusted to the minimum necessary, which helped prove to users that Autodesk Construction Cloud is easier than conventional or manual methods.”

By using cutting-edge digital tools like Autodesk Construction Cloud, we are making our projects smarter and greener. Together, we’re building a bright future, and I can’t wait to keep pushing the envelope to see what amazing things we can achieve!”

ACC Assets: Building Better Processes to Enhance Construction Oversight

With up to 100 active users on each project, Wee Hur is leveraging Autodesk Construction Cloud to revolutionise project management and tracking. This seamless, integrated environment boosts collaboration, accountability, efficiency, and transparency. Engineers, technical teams, site managers, 3D modellers, BIM coordinators/managers, subcontractors, and consultants all benefit from digital inspection, version control, clash detection, and detailed reporting.

The Assets module in Autodesk Build has made progress tracking and handling inspections much easier for Wee Hur. Now, teams get real-time visibility on project updates, whether it’s marking inspection points on 3D models or flagging tasks in 2D plans. It helps organise everything and keeps track of what’s happening across different parts of the project.

The digital inspection process allows engineers to use their devices on-site to complete custom forms and track work status by trade and category. Checklists, relevant documents, and photos are uploaded instantly, with user prompts simplifying the process. Clash detection functionality helps monitor issues - marked directly on the drawing and automatically flagged to relevant stakeholders in realtime via mobile devices. No more waiting for manual communication. This replaces the tedious conventional process of manually extracting and sending clash checks, as well as the time-consuming task of tracking issue resolution, where engineers had to highlight numerous paper-based documents and communicate back and forth with subcontractors to resolve them.

With Autodesk Construction Cloud, subcontractor progress is tracked instantly through colour-coded model elements, making task monitoring seamless and significantly easier. The platform efficiently manages over 100 documents, including drawings, method statements, and other critical project files, eliminating cumbersome and error-prone workflows. This transformation has dramatically improved accuracy and speed for Wee Hur, allowing teams to complete tasks that once took hours or days in a fraction of the time. Even users with limited technical expertise can easily engage with the project and contribute valuable input.

Previously, preparing and determining the status of inspections could take four-six hours, but with Autodesk Construction Cloud, this process now takes just one hour - resulting in total weekly time savings of 36-40 hours. This shift not only enhances productivity but also reduces paper usage, contributing to sustainability goals, and helps teams stay on track, aligned, and focused on more critical tasks.

Wee Hur’s project workflows have been revolutionised with coordination zones, lightweight models, and clear naming conventions, enhancing organisation and accessibility so stakeholders can quickly find documents and work independently. Version control ensures updates are managed effectively, with no risk of outdated files, because currency is automatically maintained. The cloud-based project storage and powerful auto-search make locating a file from around 2,000 stored project documents straightforward.

Management of RFAs and RFIs is also automated, so users can easily track submission history, check status, and identify the latest drawings in real-time.

Autodesk Construction Cloud provides instant access to detailed progress reports and automatic dashboard generation with data mapped by trades and status. Colour coding of assets provides visualisation of status on site for all stakeholders. It’s another game-changer for us.”

Autodesk Construction Cloud’s digital dashboard provides valuable project insights and reduces frustration in managing project presentations. Centralised reports can be converted into stakeholderfriendly formats, saving up to a day’s work previously spent downloading and manipulating data to prepare for weekly updates.

Jojo explained, “Autodesk Construction Cloud provides instant access to detailed progress reports and automatic dashboard generation with data mapped by trades and status. Colour coding of assets provides visualisation of status on site for all stakeholders. It’s another game-changer for us. Even reporting for owners not using Autodesk Construction Cloud is simple, as data doesn’t have to be exported to Excel and transformed into a dashboard - it’s available immediately for owners to visualise.”

Advanced functionality is being showcased at the Bartley Vue development, with significant improvements to installing prefabricated bathroom units. With 14 complex steps and up to 40 subcontractors involved in the installation process, the automated inspection process and colour coding allow everyone to quickly identify progress and stay informed.
